About Block by Block

Block by Block explains crypto, blockchain and web3 from absolute zero — one idea at a time, in the right order.

Almost every explanation of this subject starts in the middle. It assumes you already know what money is, what a bank does, what a ledger is. We do not. We start at the beginning and build upward, one block at a time, because you cannot understand a blockchain before you understand a notebook, and you cannot understand Bitcoin before you understand money itself.

Every block exists as a video on YouTube and as a written article here, in multiple languages.

How each block is made

One idea per block, one everyday example per idea. If a concept cannot be explained with something you have already lived, we have not understood it well enough yet.

Research before writing. Every block starts from a research dossier: primary sources where they exist — central banks, statistical agencies, museums, academic papers — and secondary sources only where they do not. Facts that we could not confirm are cut, even when they are good stories. Several popular anecdotes about money and inflation are missing from these pages for exactly that reason.

Sources are listed. Each article ends with the sources behind it, so you can check us rather than trust us.

Definitions stay identical. A term defined in one block keeps the same one-sentence definition everywhere else on this site and in every video. Consistency is part of being trustworthy. Those definitions live in the glossary.

What we never do

  • No price talk, no market commentary, no predictions.
  • No trading advice, and nothing here is financial advice. We never tell anyone to buy or sell anything.
  • No paid promotions of any individual coin or token. If a video is ever sponsored, it will say so on screen and in writing.

This is an educational project. That constraint is not a marketing line — it is the reason the material can stay honest about a subject where most content is trying to sell you something.

How AI is used

Production uses AI tools under human direction. The narrator, Blocko, is an animated mascot with a synthetic voice.

The parts that decide what you learn are not automated: the research, the fact-checking, the script, and the final review before anything is published.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Corrections are made to the article, and material corrections are noted with the date. The “updated” date on each block reflects the last substantive change.
